A luxurious volume on pearls by Mikimoto
Mikimoto, the luxury pearl brand, together with Assouline Publishing, has launched The Pearl Necklace, a book on the interpretation of pearls throughout the centuries. The first glimpse of this much-awaited title will be presented at an exhibition at the Hall of Mirror, M floor, Siam Paragon, showcasing the finest pearl masterpieces flown straight from Japan.
With a foreword by jewelry historian Vivienne Becker, The Pearl Necklace covers the fascinating story behind notable pearl art and fashion pieces as well as prominent women from the Renaissance to Hollywood to the modern era who chose to adorn themselves with pearls in their own way.
Must-see pieces at the exhibition include the White Bouquet, Lustrous Grapes, The Flow, Pearl Stream, The Sense of Beauty, and, most interestingly, Marilyn Monroe—a necklace worn by the popular culture icon in 1954.
