Five classic shop interiors (men)

To stay ahead of the highly competitive fashion game, luxury brands are more invested in creating an immersive shopping trip for their customers by designing shop spaces that are based on the label’s design ethos. After all, you aren’t just purchasing a product; you’re also buying an unforgettable experience. We step in for a visit.

1. Kiton

Ngee Ann City

Designed by Italian architect Roberto Baciocchi — the same man who spruced up Prada’s, Car Shoe’s and Miu Miu’s showrooms — the 158sqm flagship is awash in neutral tones. With light marble and matte bronze covering most of the store’s interiors, the Italian label’s eye-catching array of ties and suits take centre stage, greeting customers as they enter. Vintage leather armchairs in olive subtly complement the elegantly masculine space where customers can be fitted for suits with the brand’s exclusive made-to-measure service.

2. Ermenegildo Zegna

Paragon Shopping Centre

Ermenegildo Zegna’s 342-sqm luxury flagship store in Paragon Houses the Italian fashion house’s “Sartorial”vand “Upper Casual” ranges, as well as the sportier Z Zegna collection. Designed by in-house architects, it was further developed by American architect, Peter Marino. Marino was also responsible for designing the Couture room, which was built for the Ermenegildo Zegna Couture collection (the collection was specially designed by Stefano Pilati). A faux fireplace creates an exclusive ambience where customers can enjoy the brand’s Su Misura service, attended by expert consultants.

3. Ralph Lauren

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

The Ralph Lauren duplex is emblematic of the legendary American designer’s brand of refined luxury. A timeless aesthetic is kept in the 5,500-sqft boutique; walls are kept simple with white lacquer and cherry wood panels, floors are paved with tumbled limestone and both floors connected by a brushed nickel and glass staircase. The store not only carries men’s and women’s ranges including the Purple Label, but also houses a dedicated watch salon, presenting three of its collections; Ralph Lauren Stirrup, Slim Classique; and Sporting.

4. Stefano Ricci

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

From the hand-polished Californian walnut briar root display cases to the uneven Tuscan travertine floors, Stefano Ricci’s visual identity is unabashedly opulent. Its Florentine heritage shines through the richly furnished store, which is peppered with larger-than-life silver horns and an ever-changing roster of displays like fibreglass knights. Customers can also relax on crocodile leather armchairs in between browsing. For VIPs, a private room is available for custom tailoring, and perusing the brand’s extensive crystal and porcelain homeware collection.

5. Berluti

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

Berluti’s second boutique in Singapore — the first is located in Takashimaya Shopping Centre — is a recent addition to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. The Parisian maison, helmed by Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori, is best known for its premium leather goods for the learned gentlemen, and in particular, bespoke leather shoes. Rich but subdued interiors of wood, leather and marble are used to showcase the house’s offerings, with the brand’s signature patina finishes echoed on the leather walls and customised armchairs upholstered with Berluti’s Venezia leather. The limited edition Lion Tattoo collection, designed for Singapore’s Golden Jubilee as well as the store’s opening, is available exclusively in store.
