The Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogotá, Colombia

The Best of Bogota

Variety abounds behind the elegant brick facade of the new Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogotá. Opened in October 2015, the first luxury hotel in Colombia’s capital city features 62 guest rooms and suites – no two of which are alike – outfitted with fireplaces and hand-carved dressers. A glass-roofed restaurant serves innovative Spanish tapas, and the hotel’s spa offers traditional Colombian therapies. The two towers that compose the property (one a Spanish-colonial-style structure listed as a monument by Colombia’s ministry of culture) have been flawlessly restored with original stone columns, carved Moorish details, and a dramatic curved wooden staircase. Most inviting is the Four Seasons’ hidden courtyard, a quiet refuge where guests can sip the city’s best sangria.

The first of two Four Seasons hotels to open in Bogotá, the city’s first five-star hotel brings a stylish blend of tradition and modernity to the underappreciated capital city. The second, the more contemporary Four Seasons Bogotá, opened in March this year.
