Fall’s artistic strokes

To celebrate the best of British art in its new campaign, Burberry roped in artist Luke Edward Hall and photographer Mario Testino to launch its stunning Autumn/Winter 16 collection  complemented by matching imagery.

Straying from its iconic and classic checkered design, the Brit fashion brand stepped up and played with colours, textures and patterns on its The Patchwork, Heritage trench coat and The Buckle boot, bold moves which have clearly paid off.

The Patchwork features a collection of bags (68 in total), each interpreted by Hall in five different illustrations using a mix of watercolour, chalk, oil pastels and acrylics. Each bag is unique, named after a street, village or town in Britain, and comprises the mix of English suede and snake leathers. One version features a kaleidoscope of orange, red, green and blue glossy snakeskin, set in a muted checkered outline.

Pieces from the collection are available for purchase. The public may get a closer look at Hall’s artwork, which will be displayed at Burberry’s London flagship store at 121 Regent Street from 11 till 30 June 2016.
