A former interior design student, Parker developed her ceramics as counterpoint to the boxy, angular nature of the traditional home. “I wanted to make something that softens the space rather than creating more angles," says the Brooklyn-based ceramist. “Clay allows me to be a bit more malleable in coming up with these shapes." Nor does she stick to pots and vases: Parker’s oeuvre of elemental, organic-feeling ceramics runs the gamut from lamps and tables to planters and jewelry.
