AV Intelligence’s Man Cave at Maison&Objet

Kennard’s Singapore-based company brings in top-of-the-line home entertainment systems from around the world. During last month’s Maison&Objet Asia in Singapore, AV Intelligence showcased a selection of audiovisual products, alongside luxury furniture and bespoke home furnishing services.


Hailing from Singapore was the Archt One speaker (S$999). The product, which can stream music from other devices via Bluetooth and Apple’s AirPlay, is made up of a passive radiator and two speaker drives which work together to produce quality sound backed by a solid bass.

For those who were looking to splash some serious cash on their man caves, the S$45,000 Aavik U-300 Integrated Amplifier would’ve fit the bill. Dubbed “the Ferrari of the amplifier world" by Kennard, the Aavik U-300 combines all the different components in high-end audio systems into one compact package, giving customers more space in the cave for their other indulgences.

If there was one gadget that would’ve floored the audience at the AV Intelligence showcase, it would’ve likely been the futuristic-looking Estelon X Diamond loudspeakers (S$90,000 a pair). Winners of the 2015 CES Best of Innovation award, these ultra-luxury speakers promise crystal-clear sound quality thanks to a revolutionary carbon-fibre resonant control and isolation technology. In addition, the diamond dome on the frequency driver ensures no sound distortions, at least not in the audible frequency range. A unique underhung motor and its titanium voice coil also ensures that the system does not trap excessive heat.

To complement the dazzling array of sound systems on show, AV Intelligence brought in Soundzipper. This Singapore company specialises in architectural acoustics and can help clients design their man caves so that noise from the outside is more effectively blocked out.

Sound matters aside, there were also bespoke products on show by The Rug Maker, another Singapore company that has turned the normal household rug into a contemporary design statement. Another item that raised eyebrows was Lungolinea (S$35,000), an elegant Calma e Gesso table tennis table with a honeycomb-patterned net. Made of crystal glass and metal, the table would make an exceptional showpiece in any man cave.
