When Ferrari presented its FF at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011, it heralded a new type of Grand Tourer, one which would provide a new generation of fans with the comfort and capacity to make greater use of its car. As statistics would prove, this demographic would clock 30 per cent more mileage on their Ferraris than the traditional set of owners.

Five years later, Ferrari’s sophomore effort finally debuted at Geneva last month, with the Ferrari GTC4Lusso. This time around, the big news revolves around the marque’s integration of rear-wheel steering and four-wheel drive for the first time. Thus, a 12-cylinder engine provides an aural and sensory delight – hitting a maximum speed of 335km/hr and going from zero to 100km/hr in a mere 3.4 seconds. For a car that measures nearly five metres in length and two metres in width, it is surprisingly lithe, offering a maximum torque of 697Nm at 5,750rpm, with 80 per cent of that at only 1,750rpm.

Inside, the newly patented 4RM-S (four-wheel drive and steering) system offers topnotch performance and agility on snowy, wet and low-grip roads.
